Helping develop tomorrow’s leaders by introducing them to service and leadership is a primary purpose of Rotary’s youth programs. Interact, RYLA, and Rotary Youth Exchange help Rotarians connect with young people in a way they can relate to. We have the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with participants in these programs, laying the foundation for them to join us in service. On Wednesday, May 15th at 10:00 AM (Eastern), Rotary’s Youth Advisory Council will host a webinar to encourage you to become a Champion for Youth. The goals of this session are to help us:
- understand how young people find Rotary and how to help them get involved;
- explore the barriers to youth participation and identify strategies to overcome them; and
- develop plans to keep youth members and alumni engaged.
Register here (and if you can’t make it, a link to the recording will be sent to you).
…and if you can’t wait until May to get involved, plan to participate in Global Youth Service Day, coming up on April 26th-28th. Find our how your club and district can participate in the longest-running annual youth participation event in the world. The event asks youth ages 5-25 to work together for the common good and recognizes the impact they make on their communities. Develop your plan to encourage youth service and civic action in your communities while celebrating youth and their communities working together for the common good. Learn ways to join the celebration and honor the service impact of Rotary’s Young Leaders!
